BBA Certification awarded to Farrat TBK and Farrat TBL Structural Thermal Breaks

Following extensive independent assessment, Farrat Structural Thermal Break materials,Farrat TBK and Farrat TBL, have been awarded BBA Certification by the British Board of Agrément [BBA].

Structural Thermal Break Plates are used between horizontal and vertical connections of internal and external elements to reduce thermal bridging. They provide a simple, economical and extremely effective solution to meeting Building Regulation requirements by reducing heat loss and the risk of internal condensation.

BBA certification is a mark of quality, safety and reliability that provides reassurance of the product’s fitness-for-purpose. The introduction of BBA Certification is part of a continuing programme of product development for Farrat. This latest certification for the product ensures that this technology can meet the ever demanding requirements from specifiers, whilst continuing to lead the Structural Thermal Break plate market.

Vanessa Adell, Project Manager at BBA Comments: “Thermal bridging in all its manifestations has always been a challenging problem for those involved in the insulation of buildings; effective solutions are always welcome to the market, and these latest products from Farrat are no exception. The Structural Thermal Break Plates, Farrat TBK and Farrat TBL, passed the rigorous tests they were subjected to and met all the rigid requirements that we insist upon at the BBA.  As such, it is a pleasure to endorse Farrat TBK and Farrat TBL and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Farrat in the future”. Stephen Blundell, Technical Director at Farrat comments:  “Here at Farrat we are committed to developing high performance solutions to thermal bridging and are therefore delighted that our Structural Thermal Break materials, Farrat TBK and Farrat TBL, have met the rigorous standards required by the BBA following an extensive period of independent evaluation”.
