STEM activities for home from Farrat, to enjoy with your little engineers

Homeschooling may be over for most, but if you’re looking for something fun but educational to do with the kids, the team at Farrat are putting together a few STEM ideas for the next generation of engineers and scientists, and we’re probably looking to have a little fun too.

Here’s Applications Engineer Ailish Hepburn showing you how to see which substances are afraid of water, which aren’t, and why.  Ailish is a highly accomplished graduate with a Masters in Physics and Business Management from the University of Leeds, where she also worked in STEM Education Outreach, demonstrating science experiments to the general public.

We hope you enjoyed learning about hydrophobic and hydrophilic substances!

  1. We’d love to see photos of your project so please email us your photos.
  2. If you like learning about water molecules, why don’t you try and make your own edible version of a molecule?
  3. If you’re looking for more ideas for STEM activities from Farrat then take a look at the team’s other videos.
