Farrat BowlFLOOR PRO was designed and supplied to provide acoustic isolation for the five-lane bowling alley, part of Roxy Leisure’s new site in Leicester.
Roxy Ball Room, Leicester
Project Overview
The Challenge
Roxy Ball Room, Leicester offers a vast array of entertainment all in one location. Combining ten-pin bowling, ice-free curling, karaoke rooms, and “Crazy Pool”, located in the old DW sports unit on Humberstone Gate above Marks & Spencer department store.
There were constraints with the capacity in the existing structure to install a concrete floating floor, therefore Farrat was tasked with designing a lightweight timber floating floor, in order to provide optimal acoustic isolation.
The solution
Farrat designed and supplied BowlFLOOR PRO in June 2023 for the completion of the newly created bowling lanes. We also provided installation drawings and site installation support from our expert team to ensure our acoustic isolation solution was installed in line with best practice methodology.
Our efficient consultation and design service ensured there were no delays in the build plan of this highly time-sensitive project.
Partner Profile
Farrat partnered directly with Roxy Lanes and their in-house Design and Projects team to deliver the greatest balance of acoustic isolation, performance, and cost.
Roxy was created in 2013 with their first site in Leeds with each venue holding a unique variety of games all under one roof. Since then, they have launched in numerous cities across the country.
