Engineering Lead
Altrincham
Full Time
We're seeking a forward-thinking Engineering Lead to guide complex projects, mentor a talented team, and collaborate across departments to bring bespoke, high-performance solutions to life. You'll play a key role in resource planning, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within a dynamic, inclusive environment.

At Farrat, we believe in engineering with purpose – where every vibration-isolated structure, every thermal break, and every acoustic solution contributes to a safer, quieter, and more resilient world.

We’re looking for a passionate, forward-thinking Engineering Lead to help shape and deliver bespoke engineering solutions that sit at the cutting edge of design and performance. You’ll join a dynamic and collaborative team where diverse perspectives are valued and where leadership means supporting, developing, and inspiring others.

What you’ll do

As an Engineering Lead, you’ll:

  • Lead complex engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery is on time, within scope, and to the highest quality.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers – nurturing their development, building capacity, and championing continuous learning.
  • Play a key role in resource planning, aligning engineering capacity with project demands and ensuring smooth delivery across our pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Design, Sales, Operations, and Product Development to bring holistic solutions to life.
  • Drive technical excellence, maintain compliance with industry standards, and contribute to process improvement and innovation.

What you bring

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage people of all genders, cultures, ethnicities, and experiences to apply.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience leading engineering projects in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
  • A strong track record in resource planning and team capacity management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to work across teams and explain complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and basic CAD software
  • Hands-on expertise in vibration control, acoustic insulation, or thermal isolation (desirable but not essential).

What’s in it for you?

  • A purpose-led engineering business with strong values and a people-first culture.
  • Opportunities to lead, learn, and make a visible impact on high-profile projects.
  • Supportive leadership, structured development plans, and access to training.
  • Competitive salary + benefits + hybrid working + a friendly, inclusive work environment.
