The Project

In order to gain more traction and increase footfall to Barnsley town centre, the council planned a huge leisure scheme involving shops, restaurants, a Cineworld cinema, and a Superbowl bowling alley.

The multi-million pound development endeavoured to build a community hub in the town centre. Funded by the city council and other local businesses, at its core The Glass Works is a centre for the people by the people. By supplying our BowlFLOOR Max range to Henry Boot Construction, Farrat contributed to the transformation of Barnsley town centre. The Glass Works leisure complex has transformed the town into an animated, happening centre, much to the delight of local residents. Key value we brought to the project

As part of a huge development project for a leisure scheme in Barnsley, Farrat was commissioned to supply products from our BowlFLOOR MAX range for an eagerly awaited Superbowl bowling alley.

In partnership with Acoustic Consultant Sharps Redmore, we successfully delivered an effective acoustic isolation solution for the 12-lane tenpin bowling complex. To create a prime environment for bowling with minimal unwanted sound transmission, we utilised our BowlFLOOR Max range and supplied this to Henry Boot Construction who fitted the lanes. Our BowlFLOOR products were a robust and effective choice to pre-emptively solve any sound transmissions that may have impacted the surrounding amenities.

Services, Products, System Supplied:

BowlFLOOR MAX
Providing high levels of acoustic isolation to bowling lanes is difficult as the isolators must be soft and compressible, yet resist varying loads across the approach, lanes and pinsetter. This has the potential to lead to inconsistent deflection. BowlFLOOR MAX is designed around a carefully calculated trio of isolators and combined with a concrete slab to deliver the very highest levels of acoustic isolation with competition standard deflection consistency.
