Home to more than 200 organisations, Harwell is a vast world-renowned science and innovation campus located a few miles south of Didcot.
As part of the campus expansion, one of the main tenants,Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) is constructing a new £23.7M Facilities Support Building. The support facilities will allow researchers to test and commission new scientific equipment, operated by the Science & Technology Facilities Council.The facility will consists of two large open plan halls, each constructed as a single storey, steel braced frame measuring 70 m-long × 35 m-wide.
Farrat TBK 20 mm Structural Thermal Breaks have been supplied on this project to prevent thermal bridging of the steel-to-steel connections and curved façades.
