On Thursday 10 December, Farrat sponsored a Christmas party at The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) for children from St John’s Vianney School in Stretford which specialises in teaching children with autism.
The Christmas party started off with the children playing on the giant bouncy castle, the climbing wall and various games in the sports hall, followed by hot chocolate with marshmallows and squirty cream.
Then they went to visit the Alpacas, Dinky Donkeys, ducks and chickens and fed the visiting reindeer.
This was followed by a turkey lunch and crafts and the main event when they each visited Santa, had a photo taken with him and were given a big bag of presents of toys and sweets to take home.
When it was home time, the dancing mascots (Farrat volunteers) were there again to wave goodbye and give the odd cuddle.
CAFT hosts children, for holidays and days out, from deprived areas, those with special needs or illnesses, as well as siblings of ill-children or young carers that deserve a treat and some time-out for themselves.
CAFT is visited by over 2,000 children throughout the year for holidays and days out and relies heavily on donations, volunteers and fundraising as they need to raise £1 million each year to keep the magic going.
