Solar Gains for Farrat

Farrat, the global experts in vibration, thermal isolation and precision levelling solutions, has installed 188 solar panels on the roof of its premises in Altrincham.

Further to Farrat’s recent accreditation to the global Environmental Management System Standard ISO14001, the company has installed the solar panels to provide 100% of the electricity demand for their office building and up to a third of its manufacturing facility’s.

Any excess power will be transferred to the National Grid as part of the Government’s Feed In Tariff Scheme which was introduced on 1 April 2010 as an incentive to encourage uptake of renewable electricity-generating technologies.

The panels have a generation capability of 50kW a year.

Andrew Farrell, Farrat’s Managing Director, explained: “The installation of the solar panels is part of Farrat’s commitment to grow responsibly and reduce any impact of our operation on the environment.”
