Switching to Renewable Energy (2026)
Our German site will transition to 100% renewable electricity, aligning with the UK operations that are already powered by renewable energy. This step further strengthens our commitment to clean, low‑carbon energy across all facilities.
Moving from Gas to Electric Heating (2026)
We will replace gas heating systems with efficient electric alternatives. When paired with renewable power, this change is expected to reduce emissions by up to 16.4 tCO₂e annually, delivering immediate and impactful benefits.
Transforming Employee Commuting (2027)
With commuting identified as a major emissions source, Farrat is introducing a series of initiatives, including an EV salary sacrifice scheme, increased public transport support, hybrid working, and car‑sharing encouragement. If 70% of employees participate, emissions could fall by 186 tCO₂e every year.
Cleaner Freight & Distribution (2028–2031)
We are redesigning our logistics approach through the use of carbon‑neutral couriers, smarter route planning, shipment consolidation, and improved last‑mile efficiency. These efforts could save 66 tCO₂e annually, with further reductions expected by 2031.
Reducing Business Travel (2029)
More virtual meetings, greater reliance on public transport, and partnerships with low‑carbon hotels will help us reduce travel‑related emissions by an estimated 22 tCO₂e each year.
Designing Low‑Carbon Products (2032–2033)
We are rethinking product development to improve recyclability, expand lifecycle assessments, enhance material data, and lower embodied carbon. These steps significantly reduce the environmental impact of our sold products , one of our largest emission sources.
Engaging Suppliers in the Climate Mission (2034)
By encouraging 61.2% of suppliers (by spend) to align with Science Based Targets (SBTi), we aim to reduce emissions by up to 812 tCO₂e by 2037, strengthening sustainability across the entire value chain.
