Progress at the Anthology Deptford Foundry site drives forward as Farrat Shear Keys are installed by OHOBon Block E. The third of four building blocks in the scheme integrating a Full Building Vibration Isolation system developed by Farrat, Block E will follow suit with construction on Block’s C & D and include;
- Farrat Structural Laminated Bearings in; Shear Key assemblies, top and bottom plate assemblies for levelling, and in other lateral restraint assemblies
- Farrat IsoFoam 12– for Perimeter Isolation
- Farrat Verlimber 16 Floor Tiling / Strips – for Acoustic Isolation
Farrat Shear Keys provide lateral movement restraint together with vertical acoustic isolation. They have been designed to provide high vertical load capacity, which facilitates an efficient design that usually eradicates tension in the walls, and high shear loads to minimise the number of assemblies required, which is vital on this project due to the proximity of railway tracks on the north and South-West of sides of the site.
