Farrat achieves ISO14001 accreditation

The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. The ISO14001 standard provides practical tools for companies looking to manage their environmental responsibilities. Using ISO 14001:2015 can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved. Farrat’s Chief Executive, Oliver Farrell, explained the purpose of Farrat’s recent accreditation: “As our business continues to grow, Farrat wished to ensure that it did so responsively. The ISO14001 certification enabled us to audit and examine all our processes including energy usage, transportation and waste management, so we could implement systems for minimising environmental impact where possible and improve efficiency.” As a result of the process, Farrat has implemented a recycling scheme and reduced the volume of waste it cannot recycle. Even now Farrat has achieved accreditation, the company will continue to examine ways it can reduce its carbon footprint. Farrat also received confirmation of the renewal of its accreditation to ISO9001:2008 for its Quality Management System.
