Our Farrat team and their families have been busy over the last few weeks running, jogging, cycling, walking, swimming and exercising in order to meet our target total of 1,876 miles to Rovenaniemi – Santas home in Lapland – in a sponsored Lapland Challenge in aid of charity. Check out our progress so far below!
The journey so far
We set off from the Farrat Head Office in Altrincham and headed across the UK to cross the channel over to Holland. Then we passed right through Germany, and we’re now halfway through Denmark. Next, we’ll be crossing the border to Sweden then trekking all the way up the East coast before arriving in Finland, and finally arriving at Santa’s village in Lapland.
Fundraising for a worthy cause
Our virtual journey is about more than just wellbeing – we’re hoping to raise much-needed funds for local voluntary community group, G-Force.
We’ve worked with G-Force over th elast few years across various initiaties. Throughout this period we have witnessed firsthand the amazing work that they do, and the positive impact that have, within our local community. G-Force have worked diligently under extreme pressure throughout the pandemic, and continue to be a crucial support service to many individuals and families across Trafford.
G-Force work with families in crisis, providing essentials such as food and access to educational support, and they often work with local schools in the Trafford area to ensure that children from all backgrounds receive the best possible start in life. They also work with the elderly – keeping senior citizens connected to the community around them – and work to ensure the mental wellbeing of those needing help.
